What does the AST sensor do? What are the categories of sensors?

A sensor is a device that detects and responds to some kind of input from the physical environment. The input can be light, heat, motion, humidity, pressure, or any number of other environmental phenomena. The output is usually a signal at the sensor position converted into a human-readable display for electronic transmission for reading or further processing. Sometimes referred to as "converters," electronic or mechanical devices help us interact with the world around us. This technique measures or detects certain properties of the environment or changes in that property over time. Sensor technology advanced rapidly with the development of one of the first temperature sensors based on copper resistors in the late 19th century. Today, even if you look around, you will find different forms of sensors everywhere. Smartphones, laptops, cars, microwave ovens - you name it, it's probably packed with at least one sensor.

Temperature sensors: These are some of the most common in manufacturing. The temperature sensor is a vital component that measures temperature changes and allows us to monitor heat flow during the process. These sensors help us provide frost protection in the water pipe by continuously tracking the heat supplied to the pipe or limiting the heat generated in the load motor

Pressure sensor: A pressure sensor is a device that measures ambient pressure and converts it into an electrical signal. The signal is variable voltage or current, and ranges vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Potential applications include monitoring pressure in compressors, cylinders and hydraulic systems. They also play a key role in detecting equipment leaks, thereby helping to avoid unnecessary asset losses

Flow sensors: These sensors measure the flow of liquid or gas in a tube or pipe. Flow sensors measure changes in the physical properties of a fluid and calculate its flow using electrical or mechanical subsystems. They are essential for applications where flow rates need to be maintained (for example, pumping fuel into an internal combustion engine). Flow sensors are widely used in the medical industry, HVAC, and various smart energy applications.

Short-range sensors: Sometimes called ultrasonic sensors, these are used as parking AIDS to help park safely and easily. Short-range sensors emit high-frequency sound pulses that are then reflected off any obstacles near the car. The sensor receives the reflected pulse and calculates the time it takes to bounce.

Oxygen sensors: For automotive applications, oxygen sensors evaluate the measurement of oxygen levels in the vehicle exhaust system. By comparing the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gas to the concentration of oxygen in the air, these sensors indirectly calculate the air-fuel ratio entering the engine. Like the sensors we've seen before, the oxygen sensor provides a variable voltage output proportional to the oxygen content. The application of oxygen sensors is not only limited to automobiles, but also widely used in medical applications.

Image sensors: Image sensors are solid-state devices that convert photons into electrical signals to display or store optical images electronically. In iot, these are used for remote surveillance via cameras that, when combined with AI, can detect faces and track them as long as they are within the camera frame.

Humidity sensor: The humidity sensor detects the humidity level in the environment. Capacitive, resistive and thermal transducers are some of the more common humidity sensors. They are used in situations where moisture content needs to be controlled, such as medical devices, including pharmaceutical processing. Weather monitoring systems also use these sensors to remotely monitor humidity through the Internet of Things or other technologies

The above describes what the AST sensor does and what the categories of sensors are. In addition, Shenzhen Oudejie Technology specializes in selling new original AST sensors imported from Germany, and promises to sell products that are new original imports, while providing our customers with quotation, selection, product information and other services.
