Operational guidelines and an overview of the benefits of the BK Mikro tool inspection system

2023-09-21 15:43:18

Machine automation has greatly helped manufacturers in all walks of life. They help them speed time to market and reduce human error. Although automated machines are considered an asset to any facility, they do require regular monitoring and maintenance. Now you might be thinking about how to identify broken tools or monitor processes. This can be done easily using advanced tools and processing systems. There are a variety of tools and process monitoring systems on the market. The BK Mikro Tool Inspection system is one of the industry's leading tool, object and available space monitoring systems in use today.

Scanners have a scanning rod that scans the object, tool, or process space of the machine they are installed on.

● The control unit has a microcomputer that can trigger wand movement when receiving an external signal. The control unit transmits the scan results to the machine control through different relay contacts.

The input and output of the machine are electrically isolated, they ensure a high level of operational safety and protection against different types of interference.

Three leds, red, yellow and green, on the front panel of the device provide information about the current status of the BK Mikro TK7 monitoring system. Here's how you can interpret the status message:

● Yellow LED indicates power supply and status.

The red LED is called the "KO" relay, which indicates fault information.

● The "OK" relay is a green LED, indicating no fault information.

How the BK Mikro Tool Inspection system performs tool, object and space monitoring:

BK Mikro tool inspection systems are widely used in a variety of industrial environments to perform simple tool and object monitoring. The following points will help you understand its performance during each operation:

● Tool monitoring: The device monitors the scanning position of the tool at the exact position set by "Teach-in". Tool monitoring is performed prior to each work cycle.

● Free space and object monitoring: the scanning range of equipment monitoring tools. This scanning range can be set using two adjustment switches. When a tool check is performed on tools of different diameters, it is called object monitoring. If a scan is performed to ensure that nothing is present, it is called free space monitoring.

Two types of BK Mikro TK7 scanners are available. These are TK7A and TK7RL. Of the two, the TK7A is a scanner with a mechanical backstop for one-way inspection, while the TK7RL is a scanner without a mechanical backstop for checking the left and right tools.

Benefits of BK Mikro Tool Inspection system:

● The BK Mikro TK7 can scan in one or both directions.

● It scans perfectly in a clockwise (CW) or counterclockwise (CCW) direction.

● Output relay contacts can be selected to meet your application requirements. They are provided in normally closed or normally open form.

● The relay can be set to block, effective during teaching/starting or timed in milliseconds.

● Scan intensity can be increased by dip switches or software. This allows the inspection of tools as small as 0.1 mm (0.0039 in).
